Differences Between PCO 1881 and PCO 1810
1.Different Neck Height
PCO 1810 features a traditional neck design with an approximate height of 21mm, while PCO1881 adopts a lightweight short-neck design with a height of approximately 17mm. The shorter neck structure helps reduce preform weight and material consumption.
2.Lightweight Design & Cost Savings
PCO 1881 was developed as a next-generation lightweight standard aimed at reducing material usage and packaging costs. Compared with PCO 1810, it can save approximately 1.4 grams of PET material per preform, reducing weight by around 20–30%. This provides significant cost savings and environmental benefits for high-volume beverage producers.
3.Caps Are Not Interchangeable
Although both are classified as 28mm neck finishes, differences in thread dimensions, support rings, and sealing structures mean that PCO 1881 and PCO 1810 require their own matching closures and are not interchangeable.
4.Different Application Characteristics
PCO 1810 provides enhanced structural rigidity due to its longer neck and higher material usage, offering excellent resistance to internal carbonation pressure and transportation loads. PCO 1881, on the other hand, focuses on lightweight performance and cost optimization, making it the preferred choice for many modern beverage packaging applications worldwide.
